Dr. Ajamu Giscombe was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He attended undergraduate school at North Carolina Central University in Durham. It was in undergraduate school that Dr. Giscombe fell in love with North Carolina. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Giscombe attended dental school at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. While at HUCD, Dr. Giscombe developed a true passion for dentistry. Howard University provided an outstanding education in the art and science of dentistry.
Dr. Giscombe went on to a General Practice Residency at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, which was Pitt County Memorial Hospital. After residency, Dr. Giscombe’s membership in the National Health Service Corp led him to practice in the Midwest, providing care to the underserved at the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin Dr. Giscombe also worked part-time with a private dental practice. Eventually, Dr. Giscombe decided to return to his second home in North Carolina, and worked for many years at CommWell Health Dental Clinic, again providing treatment for an underserved and often uninsured population.
It is Dr. Giscombe’s goal to develop lasting relationships with his patients. His patients and colleagues affectionally refer to him as “Dr. G”. He looks to provide gentle, exceptional service to anyone he has the privilege to treat. In his spare time, Dr. G loves spending time with his wife and daughters, and enjoys staying active with physical fitness and outdoor activities. Dr. G and his wife recently welcomed another daughter to their family this past summer.
Hi, my name is Liz and I have been affiliated with Blue Ridge Dental Care since 2016. I fell in love and married a man who proudly serves in the military. We don't have children, so our pets are our kids. We have three dogs and two parrots. I love my little zoo. You can find me spending my off days from work at the dog park with my fur babies, or volunteering at a dog shelter. Recently, I started dabbling in photography because my husband bought me a fancy camera. I really like capturing the moment and taking portraitures. I have been practicing dental hygiene for over six years. I graduated with honors and received the Golden Scaler Award from Hu-Friedy for displaying more than exceptional skills and talents in a clinical setting. I pride myself on total patient satisfaction. I love creating a positive dental experience by tailoring the treatment I am providing to fit the specific needs of the patient. I am excited to be apart of a team whose main focus is based on quality of care. I am enthusiastic about my career, and look forward to meeting you!
